Arts & Craft 2023 ...
Last year Zoe Tucker ran a series of art classes for us where we learnt about
the work of Alfred Wallis (1855 – 1942).
Alfred Wallis was a Cornish fisherman and artist known for his port landscapes and shipping scenes painted in a naïve style. Having no artistic training, he began painting at the age of 70, using household paint on scraps of cardboard.
This is one of his original paintings.
The pictures below have been done by our Group members in Alfred Wallis’ style.
Our Autumn project saw the Group working on illuminated letters and here are some examples.
